Poly B Replacement & Whole-Home Repiping

New PEX lines to a manifold with a labelled shut-off for every fixture. Langley, White Rock, South Surrey and the Fraser Valley.

Copper manifold with an individual shut-off valve on every PEX water line

Flowest Plumbing Heating Drainage Ltd replaces Poly B plumbing in homes across Langley, White Rock and South Surrey. We are a family-owned, father-and-son company based in Langley, backed by over 30 years of plumbing experience, and you deal directly with the people doing the work.

If your home still has the grey Poly B supply pipe, we replace all of it with PEX, run every line back to one manifold, and put a labelled shut-off on each one. When something leaks in the future, you turn off one valve instead of the whole house.

What a Flowest repipe includes

We take out the Poly B supply lines and replace the whole system, not just the pipe that leaked. The new lines are PEX, run back to a central manifold near where the water comes into the house.

  • Every fixture gets its own line from the manifold: each sink, toilet, shower, tub, the washer and the hot water tank.
  • Every line has its own shut-off valve at the manifold, and every valve is labelled with what it feeds.
  • The old grey Poly B and its fittings come out, so there is nothing left in the walls waiting to fail.
  • You get a walk-through at the end so you know where the manifold is and how to use it.

Why we put in a manifold with labelled shut-offs

In most older homes, if a toilet supply line or a faucet starts leaking, the only way to stop it is to shut the water off to the whole house. With a manifold, you open one panel, find the valve labelled "upstairs toilet" or "kitchen sink", and turn off just that one. Everything else in the house keeps working while it gets fixed.

It also makes any future plumbing work faster and cheaper, because the next plumber can isolate exactly what they are working on.

Ranchers and two-storey homes

Last year we repiped about five rancher homes in White Rock alone. A rancher is usually the most straightforward repipe, because the new lines can run through the attic or crawlspace with only small openings in the walls to reach each fixture.

Two-storey homes take more planning, since lines have to get up to the second floor. We look at the layout first and tell you before we start where any access openings will be, so there are no surprises.

What it costs

The price depends on the size of the home, how many fixtures it has, and how easy it is to get at the pipe. We come and look at the house, then give you a quote before any work starts. Call us and we can usually give you a rough idea over the phone once we know the size of the home and the number of bathrooms.

Not sure you have Poly B?

Poly B was common in BC homes built from the late 1970s to the mid 1990s. Look at the exposed pipe near your hot water tank or where the water line comes in. Poly B is dull grey, about the width of your thumb, and usually stamped PB2110. If you see that, you have it.

It is not an emergency on its own. But it can fail with little warning, it often comes up in home inspections, and some insurers ask about it. If you are buying, selling or renewing insurance, that is usually when people decide to deal with it.

Where we do repipes

Most of our Poly B work is in White Rock and South Surrey and Langley, including Walnut Grove, Brookswood and Murrayville, where a lot of homes went up in the Poly B years. We also do repipes in Surrey, Cloverdale, Aldergrove and Abbotsford.
